TERMS AND CONDITIONS
With your permission, we will be meeting for 60 minute counseling sessions as often as once per week. During these sessions, we will work on any goals you may have for counseling, explore your experiences, and find solutions using a variety of techniques. Working on your goals outside of sessions is also important and I will guide you on how to do this. I sometimes suggest readings as well as written or experimental activities to do at home, with your consent.
Client Rights and Responsibilities
As a client, you have the right to know about and participate in your counseling plans and to refuse to do anything you do not feel comfortable with. You have the right to end counseling at any time.
As my client, I would like you to come to our scheduled sessions on time and be involved in the counseling process. These actions are good predictors of a positive counseling experience as well as positive outcomes. All sessions will begin and end at the scheduled time. If you are running late, please alert me as soon as possible. If you do not cancel an appointment within 24-hours before your scheduled appointment time, you will be charged the full amount.
Fees and Insurance Reimbursement
The fee for the first session is 150chf for individuals. The fee for subsequent sessions is decided by you in the scale in the informed consent form, which you will receive before your first appointment. The sliding scale is my way of offering counseling to those who are on a low income. I have a sliding scale depending on what you can afford (also considering insurance reimbursement), so if it’s within your means to pay full price (or more), please do so. This allows me to continue offering counseling to those who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
If you would like to have sessions reimbursed by insurance, it is your responsibility to contact your insurance company and check if I am reimbursed. I am happy to assist with this process.
Please note that any additional services performed by the therapist outside of scheduled sessions (report writing, coordinating with other professionals, etc.) and taking more than 15 minutes will be billed at the rate of a regular session, adjusted for time spent on the task.
Counseling is a place where you should feel free to share your experiences without the worry of the information being shared with outside sources. Confidentiality can only be broken if I feel you are harm to yourself or others, or
if someone is harming you. In the rare case that confidentiality needs to be broken, I will do my best to first discuss it with you so that you may be as active as possible in the process.
I am under the supervision of several licensed mental health care professionals in both individual and group supervision settings. This means that I may share the general content of our work together in order to direct our work. Your personal information (name, address, etc) will not be shared with my supervisor or any outside party, with the exception of your insurance company, as requested. In addition, I do use several online platforms which collect information for billing and scheduling purposes. To know more, please ask me directly.
